The AKCP Airflow Sensor (AFS00) tells you whether cooling air is moving. Placed in the air stream in front of intake or exhaust fans, air-conditioning vents or rack ventilation, it works as a simple on/off switch with a threshold that sets its sensitivity, giving an early warning of fan or cooling failures. It reports Normal or Critical and is not a precision instrument; for measured air speed, AKCP offers the Air Velocity Sensor. The sensor plugs into the RJ-45 sensor port of a sensorProbe+ base unit, is auto-detected with a disconnect alarm, and can be extended up to 18 m. Alerts go out by email or SMS/pager and over SNMP.
